I’ve loved Sunshine burgers since I was a kid, my dad used to bribe us to help him at work and reward us with these burgers. We’d be here at 6 AM when they opened ordering bacon cheeseburgers LOL. After coming back more than a decade later, the burgers still hit the same. I will say I prefer getting them when they aren’t as busy, because when I recently went I wish it was cooked just a little less. Their pickles and bacon make the burger so crunchy and good. They don’t have fries but you can get a bag and chips to enjoy with it. They also have hot dogs and breakfast foods. I am a pescetarian now, but if any of my friends tell me they’re going…. I may reconsider. Looking forward to my next sunshine burger.
Best burger i’ve ever had. My family and I eat burgers everywhere we go and we have not had a burger that tops this. Yes the place is a little run down, but we like the local neighborhood feel. And appreciate grass fed locally sourced beef, never frozen. Great shop.
I have been enjoying the best burgers in Maryland for close to 50 years. My friend Sara and I used to ride our horses from her nearby family farm to the Sunshine store.
The burgers are thick and juicey every time and are cooked to perfection!!!!!
You will not need any side order with these burgers, call a head, and order your burgers. There will be a short wait if you head in without ordering first. Enjoy!!!
I do not understand any of these 5 star reviews. I'm not even convinced we went to the same place. Maybe there's an alternate reality where this awful place is actually good, and the realities are crossing over.
Firstly, it's barely a convenience store. The shelves are mostly empty, and what they do have is a very small selection. Secondly, it is one of the dirtiest establishments I've ever stepped foot in. It clearly hasn't been updated or even cleaned in decades. Dust, grease, dirt, mold--everywhere. I didn't really want to eat my food after seeing where it was cooked. Next, the employees are mean to both customers and each other. Lastly, the burgers that are supposed to be the best in the state...are just okay. They are pretty bland, and insanely overpriced for what they are. I've had better at Five Guys. What a disappointment this place turned out to be.
Been here since the late 1980's as a little kid when my parents and 'uncle Paul' used to order the cheeseburgers for us while we swim. Fast forward to 30 years later and the nostalgia of having their delicious burger in the summer time with the same flavors and taste really kicked in hard. Prices have changed obviously and the decor of the place changed a bit.
Worth it to get a burger here whenever you can. Next time I will have to take pics of the burger itself, but it was the same as back in the day: deliciously devoured in minutes and too slow to take a picture of it.
I’ve heard the lore but finally tried it for myself. The store was full of people - locals, motorcyclers, Sunday drivers, families, first timers (me), and daily diners. The wait was 20+ mins but I had a spot at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed watching the cook and admiring the setting. This place looks straight out of a movie and the food straight from a dream. There’s just something about a burger cooked in front of you, doused in grease, piled with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, mayo, and ketchup, all soaking through a squishy bun. Pair it with a bag of chips and a soda from the store and you’ll be full all day. I’d be remiss not to mention the women working the grill; they are unbelievable. It was mesmerizing just to watch them work their magic.
The employees are super friendly and the burgers are fantastic! Definitely stop in when you get a chance!
Saw the Washington Post review. I'm a trucker and love mom and pop shop's or the greasy spoon. I will go out of my way for great food review. 😋 Now thar being said the review didn't do it justice. Absolutely best bacon cheeseburger I've ever had in my life. …
